The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy on self-regulation strategies and self-efficacy in children of divorce. The present study method is a semi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test with a control group. The statistical population of the study included children of divorce who referred to counseling centers in Tehran in 1404; then, 30 people were selected from this population using the available sampling method and randomly placed in two experimental groups of 15 people and control groups of 15 people; the questionnaires used to collect data were self-regulation strategies and self-efficacy questionnaires. Then, cognitive behavioral therapy was implemented on the experimental group during 8 90-minute sessions. After the end of the cognitive behavioral therapy sessions, a post-test was administered to the experimental and control groups. The findings showed that the average scores of self-regulation strategies and self-efficacy in the post-test were significant compared to the pre-test in the experimental group. Therefore, cognitive behavioral therapy has an effect on self-regulation strategies and self-efficacy in children of divorce.
